Elise E. Chahla, Esq.

Elise Chahla is Legal Counsel for Tysvar. She brings with her sophisticated experience in business, politics and entrepreneurial law. Ms. Chahla has represented a myriad of clients in many industries, including private equity, manufacturing, electronic business and health care. She has counseled clients through business transactions, corporate structuring, venture management, intellectual property law and commercial litigation. Ms. Chahla held the position as Chief of Staff to Lois Quam on Matt Entenza’s 2010 gubernatorial campaign, a role that promoted her to a leader functioning at the crux of business and policy. Following that campaign, Ms. Chahla joined Tysvar in 2011.

Ms. Chahla has independently authored numerous publications pertaining to economics, policy and law, and has co-authored several more. From her work at Harvard University, awarding her the “John Crimson Award” for excellence in journalism, to her most recent contributions to a forthcoming textbook for LexisNexis, Ms. Chahla enjoys contributing to current legal and economic discourse.

Ms. Chahla is also committed to bettering the understanding of brain disorders and what is needed to identify, prevent, treat and cure them. Accordingly, Ms. Chahla is a certified Mental Health First Aid instructor and an advocate for political, cultural and scientific progress towards curing all major brain disorders.

Ms. Chahla received her law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School and graduated from Carleton College with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science with a concentration in International Relations. She has also completed coursework in International Relations at Harvard College and Economics at Cambridge University’s King’s College.

Ms. Chahla is licensed to practice law in Minnesota. She speaks English, French, Arabic and has begun to learn Norwegian. Ms. Chahla currently lives in Saint Paul and enjoys painting, traveling and cooking.
